In the past two weeks, NRPOP Lab had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Ning Chen, a distinguished research scientist from the Canadian Light Source, to lead two insightful workshops titled “X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAFS): A Molecular Scale Approach in Geoscience, Materials Science, and Energy Study.”

Dr. Chen, with his extensive experience in X-ray absorption and its applications across various scientific fields, brought invaluable knowledge to our students. These workshops provided hands-on learning about XAFS techniques and showcased how molecular-scale insights can advance research in geoscience, materials science, and energy fields.
